What is religion?

If religion is higher than humanity,
I am irreligious.
If religion is greater than friendship,
I am unfriendly.
If religious means extravagance and riches,
I am poor and shabby.
What is religion without service and humanity?
What is religion if brotherhood is dead?
What is religion? Is it Christianity or Hinduism?
Or is it Islam, Jew or Sikhism?
I am irreligious to those religious ones,
For me humanity is religion and religion is humanity,
For them overnight fame and vested interests.
They speak in the name of God and hide themselves,
I speak in the name of people and find God in them.

A day in Winter

Down beside the busy bridge,
I see hundreds of people’s knees,
Those are fast and active like in games,
Don’t recognize even calling their names.

Dusk of winter day and cold air,
A Mom rushes thinking her child to care,
Young lads in tight jackets tramp the trails,
Groomed ladies walk like the boat sails.

Shopkeepers light their shop like in Laxmi Day,
Customers hurriedly choose and decide to pay,
Cycle groceries cry out aloud the rates,
Animal lovers think to be with the pets.

People in hotels order for hot tea,
‘Sahunis’ move here to there like a bee.

Real and Fantasy

Pleasantly, you touch me and change the aura,
Touch, I had never felt before,
Different and distinctive, it dwells in my memory,
That manifests in my aloofness.

Sweetly, you persuade me, also unknowingly,
Persuasion, that haunts me to change by habit,
Your pious and godly role wins over,
That transforms me like dewdrop.

Astonishingly, my remembrance drives,
To the scenario where we were lost for time being,
Remembrances transfigures into dreams,
Where my shadowiness was shadowing you.

Silently, you whisper into my ears,
That whispering was not less pleasing than God’s message,
And you asked me to make a promise,
To keep the secret and never to dismiss.

Our Nature

We wish those things which can never happen
We promise those things that we can never fulfill
We choose those things that can not be favorable
And we read books that are behind our interest.

We persuade to those who are rigid like rocks.
we blame the innocent and praise the unable,
We discourage the caliber and search his loopholes
And we call ourselves a better judge with rare insights.

We try to know about things we already know
We feel humiliated to know what we don't know
We are recycle machines, we recycle our knowledge frequently
And we don't accept our origin and wear other's skin.

We are like chameleon changing time to time
Our identity is in peril and we suffer crisis
We don't need someone to admire us, we do ourselves
We live our life guided by others and curse ourselves.

Lied Promise

When the promises are broken;
When the hope is shattered;
When the waiting is simply wastage of time;
I become abnormal and my sense of vision dysfunctions

When a person betrays and gives false explanations;
When the lies try to cover the truth;
When the reality is tried to convert into illusion;
My speech stops and I become insane.

I then declare myself about those people
They lack honor, prestige and morality.
They are inhumane wearing the mask of cultured
Their human qualities are worse than animals

I wish they could change themselves
And turn into a perfect human.
That does not harm other’s lives
And fulfills his promises at promised times.

Relation

Relations are precious as gold
Some are bold and some even untold
They change with change of environment
Full of duties, honor, sympathy and sentiment.

Abstract this relation is, like emotions
Its complexity is increasing and vibrations
To join is difficult, to abandon is easy
To promise is simple, to safeguard is uneasy.

Sacrifice in relation, like exercise for body
Misunderstanding, harmful as drugs for nerves
Loyalty, love and liberty are necessity
For happy, contented relation's possibility.
